Government

Providing trusted support to central departments, agencies and arms-length bodies.

Clear, impartial support in high-accountability environments.

Government organisations operate in a landscape of political scrutiny, regulatory complexity and public accountability. When people issues arise, they need to be addressed with credibility, neutrality and confidence.

We work with central government departments, policy units, regulators and arms-length bodies to resolve sensitive complaints, manage internal conflict and strengthen organisational culture. Our services include independent investigations, mediation, leadership support and policy consultancy, all grounded in fairness, transparency and best practice.

With extensive experience across the public sector, we understand the need for discretion, consistency and impact. Our team helps government bodies act with integrity and restore trust when it matters most.

“I loved the training. It was challenging, thought provoking, stimulating and enjoyable throughout. Well placed and with a fantastic trainer. It was a brilliant use of my time. I will implement the learning in my day-to-day work with staff and career transition clients, as well as in my role as professional lead on mediation for the Civil Service.”

The Client:

Cabinet Office

Description

The Cabinet Office needed to turn strained supplier relationships into strategic partnerships. CMP worked with the Strategic Supplier Relationship Management (SSRM) Team to shift the focus from transactional interactions to meaningful engagement through tailored training and behaviour change.

By delivering a bespoke version of our Harnessing Difference programme, we equipped the team with the tools to listen with intent, engage with curiosity and navigate difficult conversations. This not only strengthened their internal team culture but directly improved how government departments work with major suppliers, driving innovation, accountability and trust.

Outcomes included the redesign of SRM models across departments, a more impactful approach to 360 Relationship Assessments and a measurable cultural shift from ‘us vs. them’ to true collaboration.
