Call-off Contracts for Investigating Harassment Complaints
Many organisations of various sizes decide to set up a contractual arrangement whereby we carry out many (or even all) of their harassment investigation cases. In doing so you’ll reduce the burden from your internal management team, whilst enabling all your cases to be prioritised and fairly investigated in an empathetic manner.
Workplace Harassment Investigation Training Courses
Training your staff to investigate workplace harassment cases is also a good means of ensuring a higher quality service. We offer a range of training courses, which we can tailor to harassment cases, and the specific needs of your organisation. We flexible training options from short workshops, to our 3-day accredited course and more advanced packages.
How we investigate harassment at work
Thanks to our vast experience in conducting workplace harassment investigations, we have developed a highly accurate scoping system. This means that 90% of our cases are completed within the initially quoted scope, and we are fully transparent in the unlikely event that more time is needed. This is one of many reasons that our client retention rate is so high. Our large pool of active harassment investigators means that we can begin working on your case within one working day of receiving a referral.
When investigating allegations of harassment, we establish and present evidence for:
– Whether the conduct complained of related to the complainant’s protected characteristic
– Whether the conduct was unwanted by the complainant
– Whether the conduct had the purpose of violating the person’s dignity or of creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for the person (or as described in your organisational policy)
– Whether the conduct had the effect of violating the person’s dignity or of creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for the complainant (or as described in your organisational policy)
– If the conduct had that effect, taking into account all the circumstances of the case, including the complainant’s perception, whether it was reasonable for the conduct to have had that effect
Our harassment investigation service is both timely and thorough. We will ensure that all available evidence is obtained, and all relevant witnesses are interviewed such that the final report is fair and robust. We work in such a manner as we realise how much is at sake, both for the individuals involved in the harassment investigation process, in addition to your organisational brand, finances and reputation.
One-off Workplace Harassment Investigations
Harassment is unwanted behaviour in relation to a person’s protected characteristic, and is unlawful under the Equality Act 2010. When allegations of harassment are made within your organisation, you have a responsibility to respond with a prompt, proportionate and fair investigation. With so much at stake for your employees, and organisational reputation, outsourcing your case is the best way of ensuring fair treatment, whilst communicating the highest levels of impartiality.
Thanks to our large pool of expert harassment investigators, and wide range of clients, we are highly likely to have experience working in your sector. We carry out all of our workplace harassment investigations in line with our own Best Practice Standards (above ACAS minimum guidelines), and will also ensure we are familiar with you internal policies and procedures. An outsourced harassment investigation may seem like an unwanted, additional cost to your organisation, however it is very often the case that when all factors are considered, we offer a financial saving compared to conducting your investigation internally.
Call-off Contracts for dealing with workplace harassment complaints
We also offer contractual arrangements whereby we can conduct many (or all) of your workplace harassment investigations for you. Depending on your caseload, we’ll build a bespoke arrangement to match your needs, which will include a favourable saving on our ad-hoc investigation rates.
As part of the contractual setup, our harassment investigator(s) will meet with you and become familiar with your organisational structure, policies and culture. Thanks to our consistent approach when handling multiple cases, we can also provide additional value, through the identification of emerging issues within your organistion that may require further attention.
